Be on special Salt Spring Island on September 27, 28, 29...it's the annual Chamber sponsored Sip & Savour event...a fundraiser for Salt Spring's agricultural community.
Friday evening, the 27th, several of our award winning restaurants are showcasing either a winemakers dinner event or a Sip & Savour inspired menu. We truly are lucky here with the fineness of our restaurants...just ask anyone who has visited this Island.
Saturday morning its the famed weekly Saturday Market in the Park.
The afternoon of the 28th (1 to 4) is the grazing event, with 30+ wineries in attendance, including the three vineyards on Salt Spring...the local stellar chefs are creating tasting stations with great food, created from local producers, to pair with the wines being poured for your pleasure.
Saturday evening, there is another Sip & Savour inspired menu and dance (Jose Sanchez' Cuban Dance Party)...tickets required.
Sunday's plus? It's the annual Apple Fest on Salt Spring, with heirloom varieties on display/for purchase and farm tours a part of it.
Salt Spring is famed as an artists community and this is true. It's also a part of the locavore/10K diet, with back to the land farmers and also those whose families have been here since early 1900s.
